I'm in the process of breakin the engine, and I want to know if there is any way to know if you did the breakin fine or bad???

you cant really see but if all the tolerance were respected... your engine shouldnt burn oil and should not leak on a pressure test when the engine still hot.... thats the only way to know...

 

I'm bringing this back from the dead cause I'd like to know. Someone said VAC readings should be around 431.80 - 533.4 mm of Hg @idle. If you want it in inches divide the # by 25.4

I just did a rebuild and started my car up and reved it around 1500 to 2000 rpm for 10-15 minutes and wanted to know how I test if they seated and seated correctly?

I heard your supposed to drive around easy,and keep backing off the throttle, allowing the rings to seat, is that correct?

 

a compression test and leakdown test can give you a good indication. Once the rings have seated you should get good consistent numbers for your compression numbers and very little leakdown. Vacuum readings will also get higher as the ring seal improves.
