Hi all, just signed up because i hope to be buying a 96-99 civic hatch and swapping it, really bored of my current car! my name's Ty so yep, hi! also, quick n00b question; what's EG stand for?

 

Welcome to HT...EG is the chassis code for 92-95 JDM civics. The chassis code is the 4th-6th digits of the VIN on civics.

 

EG is what people refer 92-95 Civics as...and people refer to the 96-00 Civics as EKs except for the 99-00 which is an EM1.

Yes. The 99-00 is about a 15.9-16.2 second car when mostly stock. Best I've seen/heard of an i/h/e modded Si running the 1/4 mile was a 15.0 which is pretty quick, but nothing to go nuts over.

BTW:

The amount of modded 99-00 Si coupes is probably nowhere near the amount of modded hatches and other coupes, so picking on those isn't very fair.

The only current Dodge product quicker than my Civic right now would be the Viper, and it had better be for the price, engine, etc.

i used to have a neon and man i was pumped when the headgasket went to **** after 60K miles. to chrysler............i also take pride in our country and i am not some ignorant *** that thinks my honda is the fastest thing in the world. i just feel that the quality of domestic sport compacts is kinda shitty.
