HELP! Swap Gone Bad
Ok, I posted earlier about running codes 4, 9, and 16. Well, what had originally happened was that my tranny went out of my DOHC ZC in my car. I had planned on fixing it when a friend said he needed a motor, so I sold him it. I picked up a B18b1 already swapped in a friend's wrecked EF. Well anyways, when the tranny went out, the car ran perfect, no missing, no nothing.
We began swapping it into my friend's DX two days ago. We ran into a couple of problems, but nothing major. Got everything done, and started it up. It misses like a bitch, and the timing sounds retarded a bit. We've checked everything out, the MPFI is wired correctly, all of the harnesses are hooked up. It's running a code 4, 9, and 16, like said above. It also has a very STRONG fuel smell when it's running. It smells like the motor is dumping too much fuel through the exhaust.
So my question is, does anyone know why it has this smell? And why it is missing so much, if the timing belt is tight, and it ran fine when in my car. All we did was swap it out into another motor. Another thing it is doing is when you punch the gas, it sputters then takes off. As long as you get above around 3 1/2 to 4 grand, it runs like a champ. This problem is pissing me off, and I really need help here. Thanks.

Make sure there are no loose wires on the distributor. Sounds like it could be a timing problem, leaving you with not enough spark to ignite the fuel being dumped into the engine. Also make sure the rotor and cap are good.
r u sure the dist is wired correctly ? both the code 4 and 9 have to do with the crank angle sensor. check your wiring
because of these codes your ecu might be throwing more fuel. if you mized up those wires the ignition will be severly retarded which puts more demand on the ignition so maybe all the fuel isnt being burnt up
