Default My New Mod..(1pic)

I picked up my cage today, pretty happy with the quality. Very nice, seems to be strong as hell, even came with touch up paint. Cusco is good stuff

Sorry the pic is huge..

I hate to say it, but the Cusco cage is really more of a show cage than anything.

blah blah..

The guy I got it from has been running it for a couple years now, one of his cars flipped and totalled.. the cage is mint! He is running it in his other Hype-R now..

People get into big disputes about these cages, but yet everybody is using them on Circuit, everyone who can afford to use it for lapping does. But the real racers use full weld in cages. I still drve my car to school and I just wanted to be a bit safer on the track, plus It couldnt hurt payhing less then half of the actual cost of the cage..

And the bars arent as thing as they look, they are solid. The smallest of the bunch weights a lot! And bleive me, after seeing tuns of crash pictures of owners whove had the cage, I wouldnt say safety is not an issue, because the bars held up!

Well in that case-

Don't forget pics and a review when after you get it installed.

18 holes I need to make, with this cage its manderally bent (cant spell) so that it doesnt have to go through any vents, and I can dislocate the side bars and make it 4 point on the street, add 2 botls then Im 6 point on the track. I put it togather in my living room in 5 mins max, the hard thing is going to be drilling the holes with out hitting anything..

In all honesty, I dont think very many cages can do much for you. I still have my air bags, I still have my harnesse's, and the cage is going to be keeping the front from crushing in (if I use all 6pt of it)..

I have only see picturs of roll overs, and side swipes..

Im not quite sure.

for driver safety?

probably nothing at all

however if it were a weld in cage, with a good racing seat, and 4points, helmet and hans device... it would probably help bigtime

OMP seat
Hans Device
Approved Helmit
Fire Suit..

Other then welding it in, I guess you could say im failry safe..

but aside from welding, its just as strong, as pics have proven its duribility..

and as far as being safe on a head on collision.. its pretty much the same as any other cage, autopower.. weld, etc. Unless you construct some sort of front re-bar, then its going to do the same any other bar does, if not better...

It has 18 bolts, which you need to predrill in your floor..

rear seats must be taken out..

its for 94+ dc chassis..

Thats all good and dandy on the track, but he said this is a daily driver, if you get in a wreck your gonna get hurt pretty bad since the bar is like 2 inches from your head, since no one wears helmets daily driving, unless if your sick ****. Hence, why many state the Cusco rollcage as "show" piece.

Also padding it doesnt help much when your head hits it without a helmet, and you seem to forgot some padding on the passenger side?

No what the cage is mainly going to do is keep your neck from snapping if you roll over while strapped into those harnesses.

Harness + rollover protection

Cusco = nicely constructed chrome moly cage that is very light

Only shitty thing is that most events won't allow that cage as it doesn't meet their specifications, but otherwise nice looking.
