How does a racing clutch effect driveability?
Ive got a 91 rex with a B16a1 and the stock y1 non lsd. It has an act stage 3 racing clutch on it right now, and the car seems to drive pretty harsh. Im not sure if there are other things that could effect it (my hasport mounts, stock bushings). If I were to put a more mild of a clutch in, would it make the car drive smoother and be a little easier to drive on the street?
Stage 3 from what I have read it a RACE clutch...made for strack running or constant race shifting...there is a stage 2 race/street clutch that is less harsh and still very tight with grabbing power....but if you want the smoothest engagement with the least amount of harshness, go with the stage 1 street clutch or back to oem. It should help the drivabilty some and make the ride smoother between gears...do a search and see which clutches people prefer...it seems more often then not to be ACT, but everyone has a different preference...hth
