15 x 6.5 rim ...tire question
Hey guys. Just wondering if I should run a 205 or 195 tire with a 15 x 6.5 rim. I know that 205 on the stock 15 x 6.0 tends to lack response and turn in but how about running 205 on 6.5 inch rims. Or should I pick up a set of 15 x 7 inch rims and then use 205's? Thanks.

15 X 7's would be better, of course.
Really a matter of tradeoffs of available tires/wheels/prices/expectations and performance requirements.

205/50-15 Kuhmo MXs on 15X6.5 and I love the setup. crisp, sharp, no sloppiness, very responsive and plenty of traction
edit:
And they are wearing very even across the treads.
But my heavy *** foot is killing them very quick

As you might guess:
15x6 < 15x6.5 < 15x7
$$ wise it usually goes the same way too...its up to you. The 6.5 definitely feels better than 6, and the 7 better still.

i've actually wondered about this.. at what point does the rim become too wide for the tire (or does it)? ie. a 195 on a 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8 ...
