Default 2.5" to 2.25" Test Pipe

2.5" to 2.25" Test Pipe

I'm short on the money right now.. dont wanna buy a catback.. so I need a test pipe that goes from 2.5 to 2.25 inches.. so I can put my JDM header on .. (my other header has a slice through it from the accident so I can't wait and save money.. I need it on now

IDEAS?

kteller.com doesn't have what I need.. it does but the flanges make it so I can only go from 2.25 to 2.5 inches not the other way..

http://www.kteller.com/store/p...d=239
Kteller8 is telling me it might work .. opinions?

turn it around.. our 2.25-2.5 can be turned around and now you have 2.5-2.25

I'm curious... how are you going to turn around a pipe that should have a 3-bolt flange on one side and a 2-bolt (with a flare) on the other?

This is the reason I haven't ordered from you. It seems like you only sell test pipes and cats with the same flanges on both ends -- and an email from you said the same thing.

up up

Maybe you could give me some pics that make more sense there Kteller.. cause it certainly doesn't make much sense to me from the pics I've seen on your site.. looks like the flanges wont work like that .. thanks

Where are your 3 bolts coming from.. an aftermarket exhaust or.. stock R?
Cause if I remember correctly mine only has 2 on the exit of the cat..

well it can come with any flange you want on it, you just to ask: not sure which email you sent, but i do those all the time, we get ppl who ask for special lengths and they want 2 or 3 bolt here or there..

if its listed thats not a problem..

reason being, there isnt a "set standard" to what is on it: half the systems have 2 and half have 3. it all depends on your downpipe, and exhaust system:

this is exactly what i am talking bout , you can only assume on a "stock" system once you replace anything, it all changes..

some ppl have 2 on both sides, some have 2 and 3 and osme have 3 and 2

So with "your system" the 2.25 to 2.5 will work is what your saying.. can anyone else back this up??? pictures would be excellent cause the site's pics do not show what you are saying to be correct

The flange on the right side isn't the same as the flange on the left side of the pic..

I would definitely want some form of flexible joint at the header/cat connection, whether it be a the traditional donut flange or a braided flex-joint. Otherwise, stress on the system created by engine movement can't be absorbed, and will instead be translated to such things as the mounting bolts on the head.
