Brake upgrade suggestions for ls swapped CRX?
I just had an ls motor dropped into my crx, it is a lot more powerful, but it also is a lot harder to stop.
I am just looking for suggestions for front and rear. My car is a dx, so I know swapping in a disc brake conversion will probably help, but what else?
Temporary plans are to put new pads and shoes all around, and give myself plenty of distance to stop
TIA

I would suggest doing a disc brake conversion in the rear and upgrade to stainless lines and some decent pads. If you are into track racing or soloI events, I'd recommend a set of slotted rotors up front. Hawke pads with SS lines using the stock calipers works awesome! Big brake conversions are expensive, and you are limited to running large rims.
No big brake conversion, just want to stop well. I really like smaller wheels anyway, probably never get anything larger than a 15"...maybe a 16", but thats not likely.
I have a B16 rex, and the Integra brakes I swapped in work fine. I wouldn't buy a big brake kit, it's not like your car is an 11sec car!
Now I'd recommend one for anyone who's car is 12sec or better... but the stock integra or covoc ex brakes with the civic ex steering knuckles works fine... truat me, and i beat my brakes pretty bad and I have no complaints

Thanks to everyone, just needed to know some options.
What is involved in the ex upgrade for the front?? I need the steering knuckles, rotors, calipers????anything else?
Also, is a crx si the only car I can get the rear arms and disc from, or will the civic hatch arms fit? I looked at some 92-95 rear arms, but they look to long. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I've got the steering knuckles, hubs, rotors, calipers... i think that's all i've got... ???
You can swap in rear discs from a CRX Si or A Civic... i think the rear teg swap is possible too. I'm pretty sure you need the CRX or Civic Si rear trailing arms though.... not too sure.

i added powerslot rotors, aem pads, and steel braided lines to my front brakes on the crx si, and replaced the shoes and wheel cylinders in the back. braking is much improved, cost about $450.
I have 91 teg brakes at all 4 corners of my crx! It is possible. Get the front knuckles from a 90/91 EX everything else you can use off the teg, rotors, caliper, pads. The rear trailing arms DO bolt up to a crx with no problems. The only thing is the parking brake cables are longer than the ones on a crx. I even used the teg master cylinder and portioning valve. all this bolts up! I haven't had it on the street to test how good the car brakes but im sure it works well. I ve also got SS lines and for those I used crx lines.
look through the archives on Hybrid thats where I got my info.
hope this helps

DO THE 90-91 EX brake swap- I did with slotted+drilled brembos and stock honda (nissin) pads - I ******* love it. My stock master cylinder works great and my rear drums are fine. Stops wicked quick-
