Default Need help installing Cam Gear on 90 CRX SI

I bought an OBX 5 bolt cam gear but it didn't come with any instructions on how to put it on. Could anyone point me either to a web site or maybe post how to install it? I could get professional help installing it but I'd rather do it myself so i can learn how, thats the only way to learn if you ask me.

Thanks for your time.

call obx and request that they email/fax you an instruction manual....most customer service is nice enough to do that and if your willing to put in the 30 secs it may take to type in "OBX" and slick on their website...you may find it online...be your own source of knowledge sometimes...put in some work before you ask for help...good luck...

set it to "zero" dergees...and put it on just like a stock one.

mark the timing belt location on the origional gear (tooth for tooth)
loosen bolt
slide the belt off
take old gear off
put the obx one and line up the belt with so that the marked tooth on the belt is in the correct position (tooth for tooth)
then tighten up the bolt...

general rule of thumb:

retarding cam timing increases top end power
advancing cam timing increases midrange power

The stock camgear on my Z6 head has a woodruff key built it. And the OBX I got didn't come w/ one. Might wanna buy/find an extra.

By the way its the lil metal thinger that doesn't allow the gear to rotate on the cam

Yeah, skunk2 was the same way, it had a notch the opposite way of the stock cam gear, so i went back to where i bought it, and they pulled a key out from another box, and SOLD it to me. 2 bucks, but what the hell, it should have came with it. I think all they do is sell a b-series cam gear by itself, and forget to throw in a woodruff key, becasue arent b-series cams notched out and not in like d-series?

if you start messing with timing I would recommend you have/get a timing gun, so you don't jack anything up.

don't go by a timming gun and not know how to read it either. You need to know how to read one, or else you'll sit there and flash the light and be like
