Guys I have a 99 Accord LX. I have this really really weird thing happening to my car. If I put my key in ignition and start the engine real quick, the "check engine light" comes on after I do that a few time.

But this never happens when I put the key in ignition turn to ON position but not START it then wait for the computer to do all the checking and beeping. Once all the dashboard lights and beeping go off, I start the engine the check engine warning light never comes on.

Has any of you experienced this? Or is my car possessed??

 

I posted this yesterday and haven't had any response. Can someone please help me with this? Kind of a weird thing but I just want to know if this problem is fixable?

 

I never had any problem like this on my accord, but on my moms old jeep it had a similar problem, it turns out the problem was not with the engine it was the computer and had to go back to the dealer for them to fix it, it also happened with the open trunk light but with that the clasp was broken

What code does it have stored?

 

I have had some CEL woes today so I have read through the archives. I read a post that said that a faulty ignition switch can cause problems like the one you are having.
