Default B18B Head Oversized Valves question

If one was to purchase oversized valves for there there b18b

Stock IN 31mm EX 28mm
Oversized IN 32mm EX 29mm

The valve ports on the head would need to be bored 1mm over correct? Anyone know if the valve seats would need to be changed as well ?

It would be smart to change them anyway, just due to the fact that the head will be apart and you will have easier access to them.

would i need to use special oversized valve seats for 1mm oversized valves ?

Also does anyone know the answer to my first question? does the valve ports need to be bored 1mm over for the oversized valves ?

no you don't have to replace the seats for a 1 mm over valve.Depends on who does the valve job as to weather they open the throat for the bigger valves.

No need to replace the seats. If you get 1mm oversize valves, you will need to get a quality valve job done though as the seats will require quite a bit of cutting to make them bigger. I live in Jax too, near Regency, and I would recommend Zabatt's for the seat work. They have a Serdi valve seat cutting machine that can do a really nice job. It cuts all 3 angles at the same time, can precisely locate the new seat at the very edge of the valve, can cut each seat the same (duplicate), and requires no "lapping".......the only thing left will be blending the newly formed seats into the port area. Good time for a "mild" port job....3gdude
