Should I even bother?
Here's my dilemma:
I am currently driving a 1991 Civic LX with the d15b2 (5-speed). it has 207,000 miles. I want to know what should be my next step. So far, I have:
-changed headgasket, waterpump/timing belt at 205k
-changed radiator at 204k
-done a tuneup/oil change at 205.5k
The problem is, I believe my piston rings are shot. It is smoking and burning oil at a rate of about a quart a week. I want to keep the car considering all the money I just recently spent on refreshing the cooling system. Do you believe I should go ahead and tear the engine back down and install new pistons/piston rings, or start over with a fresh engine or a new car? I would hate to throw all the money I just spent out the window....thanks!
