Has anyone ever experienced an "exhaust knocking" in their B16 Crx? Im not even sure what it is, but it sounds like it could be the manifold and downpipe flopping around, although it feels tight. Any suggestions? Thanks to all-

 

It could be the b-pipe hitting the rear sway bar or the cat hitting the front swaybar (if you have a big front bar).

 

I know that the sound is up front. Does anyone have any suggestions, or experienced similar problems?

 

...................I had that same problem..................................
1. Jack car up.
2. Follow the pipe with your fingers and there are sometimes little bolts to ether side. The bolts should be coverd with a little rubber but if the rubber comes off, the knocking sound is what you are left with....
....some of the bolts you dont even need and i shaved mine off..... but while the car is up on jack stands turn it on and rev it a little to see were the knocking is comming from.....sould work unless its a little more serious

 

maybe it's your cat ... when cats go bad the inside seem to seperate and move around, same with mufflers..

 

is it like a loud knock or more of a crackling noise? i have that problem with mine but havent been able to sole it

 

yes... i also have this knocking sound..although i know exactly what it is.
i had the exhaust custom bent at a muffler shop and its not perfect..so the pipe is banging against the lower control arm when i turn...meh

 

that same thig happened to mine i just ripped it off and called it a day

 

make sure your bolts on the exhaust manifold is tight or your gasket ain't gone.. Cause this can cause it to knock.
