car slower than should be
ok, i had a b16 on my ef hatch, i put cam in it and it fucked my car up, i would lose to stock GS eclipse's, so i put a fresh b18c1 in, and i barely pull on the STOCK GS eclipse, when i cross over into vtec it takes a while to get up to 8k, barely pulls at all
Any sugestions? thanks

The secondary butterflies on the C1 probably aren't opening. Get a skunk2 Intake manifold or convert to obd-1 and use the 1994-95 GSR P72 ECU.
dood start with the basics..is everything hooked up correctly, got good grounds,is the timing correct.check the dis cap/rotor,valve adjustment fuel filter,o ya and get the vtec working if you have that
Vtec works, just doesnt pull as hard as i would think, and i am using the b16 ecu, and the b16 distributer, maybe distibuter is bad from old b16 engine that had like 60k on it
any more help thanks

Did u check this???
Did u check this???
Did you put it on a dyno I have the same problem with my crx b18c swap check the following.
#1 Distributor the shop who installed my engine used the wrong distributor and
it missed at anything above 6000rpm I dynoed at 128whp (ouch)
#2 Transmission my shop also installed a LS tranny and this is still slowing me
down by at least half a second
#3 Do a OBD-1 swap let the gsr ecu control vtec, secondaries, and fuel
#4 If everything else checks out do a compression and leakdown tests you may have got a bad engine
Hopfully this helps I know how frustrating it can be to pay for a expensive engine and swap and have it be slow

I don't know what a GS-T or GS-X runs stock (if its not stock he should be hearing a turbo) but a crx with a b18c should run 14.3-13.8 with I/E/H and should beat a stock Eclipse turbo

how could i check and see if the secondary butterfly's are working, ohh yea and also i took the purge tank for the vacuume lines and capped them all off, and the guy with the eclipse is my friend, and its a friggin GS. and should i just guy a new distributer instead of buy cap and rotor and all that bs?

If you are using a B16 ecu and your secondaries are not hooked up to a rpm switch then they are not working. There are two wires comming from the bottom of the manifold see if they are hooked to anything
ohh yea and also i took the purge tank for the vacuume lines and capped them all off,
I am not sure what you are talking about but undo whatever you did till it is running right you want to match what honda did in the gsr
and the guy with the eclipse is my friend, and its a friggin GS.
Then you should be killing him it should not even be close

If you can afford it do a OBD-1 swap with a gsr ecu that way you know all your settings are right. But if you can't afford it check the wires and cap and rotor. I think it is a spark related problem. But if you have the wrong tranny (like I do) it could make your problem feel a lot worse than it is.

2 wires coming from the manifold?? after the swap i did there was 2 wires that i didnt use on the b18c, but they wen to the block on the b16 not the manifold...the spark wires are good, maybe i could get new plugs too but i dont think will solve problem, and crxgsr91 what kind of tranny do you have, cause my rpms are higher than they used to be when driving at 70 mph, maybe new tranny and not ever the spark???? ANYTHING PLEASE

Knock sensor possibly?? There are a bunch of sensors and crap on the B18C that why I suggested a OBD-1 swap there are tons of companies that make kits to convert. I am going to go to vtecfrog.com theirs is only $140.00 and comes with a subharness and detaied instructions
and crxgsr91 what kind of tranny do you have, cause my rpms are higher than they used to be when driving at 70 mph, maybe new tranny and not ever the spark
My tranny is a YS1 out af a Integra LS at 70 I think I am about 5000rpms but I will check on the way to work an let you know this afternoon. I will be swapping to a YS1 out of a 92 Integra gsr next month (saving for a lsd). If your rpms are higher than mine at 70mph you have the right tranny.
I will take a shot in the dark and say it is probibly your distributor. If you can handle driving it long enough to save the money and parts you need for a OBD-1
conversion do that. If not just get a OBD-0 distributor from distributorking.com and I think that should solve your problem.
Right now I am doing the latter when my car is down anyway getting the tranny done I will do a OBD-1 conversion. After that it should run low 14s I let you know at the end of next month.

you dont need to convert to obd1.
talk to spaceballs on here, he was running
a b18c5 pre obd with a chipped pr3 ecu.
one question, is the ecu you are running stock?
if it is you should get it chipped

I must have been tired or on crack
. I was not even close.
3500rpms at 70mph.

Yes the ecu is a chipped LS integra ecu.

How is he controlling VTEC and the secondaries. Mine are both hooked to a MSD rpm switch set at 4900rpm.
I would like to hear his set-up. If I can get away with not doing this and having everything run right I will the conversion will cost me about $500.

Either you're guessing on what tranny u have or u have your RPM's mistaken. Thats too high for a LS trans.

Secondaries would be my bet. We just did a B20 block with GSR head on a DA integra, it pulls hard till 5500-6000 then lags like a ****. convert to OBD1 skunk2 manifold
