Depends on what route you want to go. Supercharge, Turbo, NA, if you want to use NAWWWSSS.lol

First thing to do is make sure all of the maintence is done. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, compression test, leakedown test, coolant change, MTF change, oil change.

If you want to go N/A The first place to start is with an intake, followed by a header, cat, catback. Do some reading on what size you will need.

Air filter won't do much don't waste your money.. Get the exhaust though.. if you want a huge increase in speed, Don't bother with a 2.25" exhaust. Save up, and SC/Turbo the car..

look on the classifieds for used items like a used AEM cold air intake you can find one for about $100

A header ? $300 comptech?

exhaust? greddy $350 ???

test pipe $50

don't expect huge gains from this set up

Maybe its also time for a major tune up? new timming belt, water pump, spark plugs, oil change, air filter, tranny fluid, etc. it really helped my car.

Search, there is so many different combinations that work for the all-motor route. Intake, exhaust, and header would be the start. Just make sure your car has the proper tune-up before you go any further.

howdy, im in the process of saving to start working on my car too. but dont spend too mcuh for somthing like an intake, they all do the samething, its just names. And im personally going with 2.25 exhaust, i have friends who have been working with and on cars for a long time. an i have also read this before, but anything bigger then 2.25 on an NA set either really wont make a difference, and of course the exhaust wont do much untill mid to high range power, so like everyone says, dont expect too much from the basic boltons, happy shoping

WELCOME! If you want big horsepower for your money, owning an import/honda is the wrong car!!! If your just an import enthusiast, and you want to go faster than stock, then I'd start off on the basics..... get a good cold air intake sytem (comptech ice box), then get a high flowing header (comptech/toda/mugen/etc.), then get a test pipe or a high flow cat, and an aftermarket exhaust with bigger piping. Basically in this scene, you get what you pay for! If you cheap out, you'll be paying to replace things constantly. Once you have those basic mods, you can decide from there if you want to go turbo or stay all motor. Whatever which route you choose, there's an endless list of things you can do!

i agree with ih8ricerz, headers, intake, and exhaust to start out with. maybe then u can work on internals.....cams, pistons, valves, retainers, fuel rail, its endless....maybe start by reducing the weight of ur car with that sound system!

Where can you get a comptech header for $300? Last time I looked around they were around $400 and up.

Boost or swap. If you dont have the cash for those two, just start with the intake/exhaust systems as mentioned.
