Default strange ECU code question

i have personally looked at my friends CRX so this is no bullshit

the ECU throws 17 SHORT blinks with no pause in between them to differentiate the codes, the CEL comes on every once in a while after driving.......WTF is going on here?

Code 17= Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)...check speedo cable, speedo cluster or speedgear on tranny (where cable is attached to).

in theory that would be correct...17 short blinks would be a code 17....but...there is normally a long blink to act as a 10...does it even just use only short blink...?does your speedo work ok?

USDM cars only have close to 20 codes... it will blink them all independently

if is a JDM ECU, it will blink a long blink=10 and then 7

i knew you guys would say this, the speedo works PERFECTLY FINE, and no the 10's are signified by long blinks so there is not 17 short blinks as 1 code

17 blinks is one code. If there was one long *** blink(for some reason) it would mean your O2 sensor is coding.

What do you mean...he said he had 17 short blinks...so that's code 17...he obviously have problems with his cluster/vss...

Your reply doesn't even answer his question....he didn't ask how to read obd0 and obd1 ecu's...

no 1 long blink, pause and 7 short blinks=code 17, this is 17 short blinks and as stated THE CLUSTER WORKS FINE no issues with it at all ever
