Code 9 is the TDC sensor...Top Dead Cylinder....basically if your car was not at TDC when the timing belt is on....it wont fire....

Code 9 = TDC sensor = New Distributor.

Look in your distributor. Is there a ball of wire like material? I know of a few hondas that this has happened to. The wire hits the TDC sensor and it thinks it's at TDC all the time or not at all because the current is running though it. Just check in your distributor if the "fuzz ball" is in there and take as much of it out as possible. If it doesn't work then it's the sensor in the distributor. I've had it happen on my car and seen it on a few others, it just happened to a friend of mine, he has a 90 crx si with a LS.

before you replace **** doublecheck that the timing belt is on correctly and that it didn't skip a tooth. that solved the problem for me.

Check INSIDE of the distributor take anything that looks like metal shavings out. Take off the cap and rotor, you might have to take off the igintor, look deep inside and check for anything out of the ordinary.
