Going to do my Timing belt change...HELP
Ok I got 135k and I think its time for me to do my timing belt this summer. Beside the timing belt, what else should I change? I got a RS model & auto. Should I get OEM parts or just from any autopart store?
i would replace the water pump timing belt tensioner and the belt itself. prostreetonline in the sponsor section has complete kit for your need very good priced too.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but on a SOHC you shouldn't touch the tensioner.
Anyway, replace the cam/crank seals wile you are at it. At that many miles, yes it would be a good idea to go a head and change the water pump. All belts are pretty much the same, OEM is not nessarly better in this situation. However, don't get some cheap vatozone water pump. That prostreetonline deal is prob your best bet, since it will give you everything you need in one little package.
Are you gonig ot be doing this your self? If so do a search on timing belts, there is a special tool u need to hold the crank still wile you loosen its bolt. There is another way to do this by putting it in 5th wile holding the brakes, but I don't really like that personally. Too much stress on the pressure plate springs on the clutch. But it will work, jsut make sure that you have a breaker bar 1/2" + drive with a 3' cheater bar on that bitch to get it loose. Its a pain in the *** from what I hear.

You're wrong.
You've got to loosen it, just make sure to tighten it correctly.
