Default axles for B18B into 88 HB.....86-89 or 90-93 teg axles?

I was searching around, and on the b16a.honda-perf.org website, Eric B. says that the 86-89 teg axles are better for a b-series swap than the 90-93 teg axles. I know that the 90-93 axles work, but aren't they just a little long? If i were to use the 86-89 axles, they would be the right length and I wouldn't have to remove the dust seal in the hub right? Would these be better or not...i'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this. On his website, he says these are better for a b16a into a crx but that should mean the same for a b18.

My car is an 88 dx HB converted to si w/mpfi and si tranny.

I just called marty at Raxles. He informed me that neither set is correct, while neither set is incorrect also. He told me what i already new which is that 90-93 axles are TOO long. They cause binding and suspension problems. He said the 86-89 axles are the perfect length but the inner joints are too small and will pop out. He says the perfect axle for this swap (besides the raxles) would be 86-89 teg axles with 90-93 inners. There, problem solved. I've been on that site b4 but now i'm seriously thinking about picking myself up some sticks from there instead of making my own.

I have an 88 HB too...use 91 Teg axles and same year intermediate shaft. remove dust seal and you're good to go.

I usually try to get 90-91 axles, never had a unwarranted problem...no dust shield. I time trial my car, so you should be good with that for the street. I did snap one a while back at the drag strip.

Ohh...old thread. FYI I have run various versions of B18, not a B16
