h22 vtec engaging but no power
long story short vtec engages but there is no power gain i have swapped out speed sensor, distributor, ecu, vtec solenoid, checked motor oil pressure, checked head oil pressure when vtec engages, checked timing, ran solenoid to a switch and it is all ok. when i lean into it in second you car hear a very light noise around 5000 rpm's but there is no power gain. i had an h23 vtec that blew up and that thing kicked super hard and now i put in an h22a4 block with type s pistons with the same h22a head and i got nothing. not even the slightest bit of power. vtec is working but there is just absolutely no power at all it runs like an non vtec with good compression. this thing absoultely dies at around 6800 rpm's
Do you say its making no power by the "feel" of it or did you dyno it? If you havent dynoed it, i would to see what the power curve looks like and the fuel curve looks like.
i have not tunned but you know when your car is running good and when it is running like crap. it runs like an h23. i have had 3 prelude motors and this does not run near close to one.
