Can anyone make this code 10 go away!
hey guys, i have a 98 y8 motor in my 91 dx hatch. It was running great till i blew the tranny
So i deciced to upgrade the tranny and get a nice clutch. Pulled the motor replaced everything i needed, put it back in. Except now im throwing a code 10 which is the IAT intake air temperature code. I have replaced the sensor with a known good one and it still didnt work. I checked the wiring and it looks fine to me. When its cold outside it wont idle when i first start it unless i give it gas for a little bit, when its warmer out like now it will idle low untill i drive it for a little while. also the first few shifts in the morning the car will stutter but then drive fine after. whats the deal? any help appreciated.

assuming you didnt mix up those plugs, you gotta go throught the following steps to see what is wrong. im assuming you know what the sensor looks like.
do these steps and tell us what happens, if it passes move onto the next step.
1. take off the connector and measure the resistance on the sensor itself, there should be 1-4
2. with the ignition on measure volts between red/yel and ground, there should be 5 volts
3. measure voltage between the red/yel and grn/wht, there should be 5 volts
so do these steps and let me know which one fails or if they pass all of them

ok im back a few days later. everything is running good and the motor runs and idles much better now. but i still cant seem to compleley kill this code 10 disease. at first the code would go on first thing in the morning after not having used my car all night, then i wouldnt see it again till the next morning. sometimes it wouldnt even come on at all for a day or so. now tonight on my way home, it just kept turning on. i would turn the car off, drive it for 10 mins or so codeless, then it kicks back on. the motor runs no different when the CEL is on. sorry for the long post. any ideas?
the ecu stores these codes. pull the ecu fuse for like 15 seconds, put it back in. that will reset the ecu, if it still throws the codes than its not that the ecu stored it, its some other problem.
