Someone tried to steal my teg.
Well, I never thaught this would happen infront of my house. Guess I was wrong. At around 9pm my little two way hornet alarm thingy(hehe) goes off. I was currently in the middle of spending some quality time with the GF so I called downstairs and asked my dad to go check it out. Didn't think much of it untill my dad calls me back and says that the hood is open. Im like WTF!!!. I run downstairs and low and behold the hood is open. Now im starting to get really pissed. I check the car and everything seems ok, but them I remember that the hood cable runs above the driver's front wheel. I look at the splash gaurd(I guess thats what its called) and notice a square cut out. I couldn't really get a good look since it was kinda dark out there but I don't think it was there before.
I don't know what made me try to autostart it but it turns out that that doesnt work anymore. The car tries to turn on but doesnt.
Good thing it still turns on with the key. I also noticed a loose thin black wire in the engine bay. I thought that maybe it was the alarm siren wire so i pressed the panic butten. The alarm sounds off but without the horn. Grrrrrr! Im so pissed.
Im gonna take it to my friends alarm shop in the morning to fix all this. Maybe now is a good time to do the hood cable relocation.
I'll take some pics tomorrow. and sorry for the rant. Just need to get this off my chest.
Cliff notes: Alarm goes off. Go to check it out and the hood is popped. There is a hole in the in the fender wall above the drivers side wheel. Autostart doesnt work. Horn doesnt work. Noticed loose wire in engine bay. Will take pics in the morning.

you got real lucky man.
I have the Viper alarm with the screen (the one they put on those hideous cars on "Pimp My Ride") and yeah, it beeps if anyone even BUMPS into my car and i have it with me at all times. I even sleep with my keys next to me.
It's pretty pathetic that i have to do this to keep my car safe... **** thieves.

Yes, they now know where your car is. I would expect another attempt at stealing it. So, you need to figure out something different so it doesn't happen and next time I guarantee it won't only be having your hood opened.
Im glad you got lucky man
I agree with another post above. Next time it goes off, bring out a gun. If perhaps there looking bad in a runaway car, they will see the gun. Chances are they won't return if you plan on shooting the bastards.
