b16 engine swap into 88 CRX si
Maybe im just a dumbass, and somebody has asked this question before, but anyways... How difficult is it to swap a b16a engine into an 88 CRX si? I mean how much money am I looking at just for the tools and ****, not for the engine, tranny etc. Plus how do i learn the in's and out's of a honda engine??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Expect to dish out at least $250 for miscellaneous other stuff. Before you swap a motor in, you should highly consider replacing certain parts. These include the water pump, timing belt, thermostat, hoses, clutch, sparkplugs, distributor cap and rotor, etc. At the very least, I would change the timing belt, water pump, plugs, distributor cap and rotor. You'll probably need to get new hoses anyway, as they will either be cut or not included with the motor. You will need a decent tool set, one of those 150pc Craftsman one's will be suffcient. Plus you'll need a hammer, a 32mm socket (axle nuts), a pry bar, not too mention coolant, oil, oil filter, brake cleaner, and grease. Unless you have one, you will also need a engine hoist to get the motor in the car. A jack and jack stands are a necessity too. I also highly recommend that you get a factory manual.
