1.) Off any wrecked RSX-S
2.) Off an RSX-S who is swapping the ITR motor
3.) On Ebay
4.) Make a WTB inquiry at clubrsx
I've heard A2's+6speed going used for less than 3000.

So when and if i get the k20a motor swap, what else am i going to have to do or buy in order to get it to run right.
make sure you get the ecu, and if possible, the key immobilizer from the donor car. otherwise you will have to have the ecu flashed to match your si key immobilizer. other option is to buy a hondata k pro, and have the immobilizer turned off, (also a great for making power on any k series)
I think you are a little bit confused and some people here are not helping...
For your Civic you have 2 choices...
You can buy a k20a ITR DC5 (imported from japan $4500-$5000 price range) or a type S motor from an american RSX-type-s. The price of the k20a2 (type-s) swaps
are all over the place.. Yes people have bought them for $3000 but if you start calling places, most of the time, they want $4500-$5000 for them.
The 2 swaps have differences.... First of all the Japanese K20A comes with ,high compression pistons (in the block) Limited slip differential, better gearing ( better final ratio), better flowing intake mani, & exhaust mani on TOP of the head & cams
k20a has a lighter flywheel and longer duration on the cams.
If you want to pretty much stay stock go with a JDM k20a.... If you are planning to heavily tune the motor, machine the block, turbo it etc... go with the type-s if you find a good deal...
On ebay a whole wrecked type-s can be found for around $5000... Yoiu have to look for it though...

Nikos,
Thanks, I really want to go for the k20a because im not looking to go turbo. I just want to do the basics on the k20a and get good power and a relatively fast ep3. The 2.0l engine in my si now feels like the rev limiter kicks in way to fast i constantly find my self bouncing of the rev limiter because the car still feels like it is pulling. If u know of any good places that could do the swap around the Springfield,Alexandria VA area it would be helpful. Thanks i appreciate it.

Sorry if I mislead you, but when you asked about the CIVIC Type-R engine, the K20A2 from the RSX-S is the engine you would want...and its a good bang-for-buck in the US.
but the K20A is the egine found in the INTEGRA Type-R, which is the over-seas, high-end version of what the US knows as the Acura RSX.
hope that clears things up.
Now, if you go to ephatch.com and contact myeverlovinsir you will learn alot more before you buy.

K20A1 That is the Civic Type-r engine... About 10 HP less than the ITR DC5 K20A

Call Nu Image. They can get you the motor and do the swap. They are the only shop in our area that has done it. While you are there you can also check out the k swap in an older gen. hb they did.
