hey guys, i think something is wrong w/ my exhaust system. i have a short ram intake, stock header stock cat and a ractive catback exhaust(i think 2.25in piping). when i push the gas past 3k rpm's i hear this noise that sounds like a load of air leaving the muffler. i think it is a lack of back pressure? let me know what you guys think?

lack of backpressure is a good thing. i have no idea what you mean about load of air though.

 

Hmm, try to describe it a little more. Does this load of air affect your driving in any way, or is it just more of a sound?

ok, no buzzing noise. the noise sounds like half exhaust and then like the top half the muffler is pushing air out. like on a real windy day u hear the wind. so this is actually good for my car?

hey, how do i fix that? do i gotta get a whole new exhaust from the header back or??? if i get under their and there is a hole then can i just have it welded shut? or is that a bad idea? let me know how to fix this cuz i think thats what it might be(exhaust leak).

 

Could be a blown gasket, bolts not tight enough, or a hole/crack

holes and cracks can easily be welded shut.

 

Yeah, i was thinking about the same think. Probably a hole or most likely.

 

hey guys, ok i was drivin my car and redlined a few times... i was wrong, there is a buzzing sound when i am at full throttle. but only when i am at full throttle, when im pushing anything less then the floor i hear the air sound though. I have no idea what this is but if some1 has had this happen to them before let me know. I just ordered a dc 4-1 header so once i get that i will get under the car and give it a full inspection of the exhaust. It wont hurt my car driving it around will it? let me know.
