Lowering wagon
Hi I have a wagon for my daily driver (170k miles on it!), picked up for 500$.

I want to lower it soon. I don't really giave a **** about excellent ride quality and I don't want to invest over 30$.
I noticed the back springs look much different than non wagons. I was thinking cut the fronts a LITTLE bit, same with the rears. If it does't work I will throw on some eibach springs I have and see how it feels.
Any ideas? This thing is my shagon wagon, I don't care really much about it. I would never cut springs in my LIFE, but this thing needs lowering and I don't want to spend money on it lol.

Like I said, I don't care about this thing. The cars I've riden in with cut springs feel like stock to me, just lower.
Anyone know if the CRX FRONT shock/springs will work? I have some aftermarket shocks on pro kit springs laying around for a CRX.. the backs I may just cut a tiny bit.

Have someone heat the coils with an oxy/accetylene torch. It won't bounce as much as cut springs, but you'll have to invest the money you saved into your medical bills because of your back problems.

I actually have seen and ridden in a few cars with heated springs, and they handled fine, but I just wouldn't suggest it. When you heat the springs they become more brittle and break more easily...

yea, all the civic/crx suspension fits.

ebay coilovers for a civic or crx ( i guess? hah)
agx struts for civic/crx
camber kit from civic/crx/integra
wasnt that cheap of a setup, but it rides real good, and handles amazing. spring rates at 450/350
p.s. i can still offroad in mine

Nice wagon!
They did a wagon in HondaTuning and used all Civic/CRX stuff. What ever you do, you should never heat springs with a torch to lower a vehicle. It removes the temper and damages the spring beyond repair. As far as cutting the springs, it will reduce the wheel travel so it needs to be done with in reason. There is also a problem cutting coils off of a progressive spring, since the rate is not the same every where along the spring.
You don't have to care about that poor wagon, but you should care about your life. Just get a used set of GC's or some springs and them you can lower it correctly and still have some sort of ride and handling when you're done.
