Default clutch problem, need help!!!!!!

Last night my car drives and shifts fine. Now when I woke up this morning and got in my car to drive to work, my clutch pedal is against the wall. There is no effort behind pushing it, it wont disengage so i can shift gears. The only reason it will start is because I got it out of gear. What would cause this problem, and is it something i could fix on my own instead of hand $300 over to a ******* shop?? Im thinking there is some kind of leak in my clutch line (the clutch itself is fine), possibly a gasket or something. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it, please tell me how you did it. Or if anyone has like scanned pages on clutch stuff out of a helms manual that they could give me that would be great also. Thanks in advance!!!

Clutch master or slave cylinder might be bad. Check your clutch pedal to see if you feel any fluid leaking. Also, check your clutch fluid resvoir to see if there is any fluid in there.

Report back if that doesn't work.

first off, you didnt top of the slave cylinder, you topped off the clutch master cylinder resevoir. The slave cylinder is the black cylinder mounted on the front of the transmission. You may just have some air in your line. Did you recently put in a new clutch? try bleeding your slave cylinder. cause that is what will happen if you have air in the line, your pedal will stick. Where the line comes over the tranny and into the slave cylinder there is a nut connecting the line into the cylinder. Have someone in the car to push the clutch in and hold it. while it is held to the floor, loosen that nut and some fluid and air should come out. Do this until the clutch pedal is stiff again. YOu will also know cause the fluid will fully squirt out of the cylinder.

i had the same problem taht you have. no clutch fluid and the lines for it were leaking. now, hasn't happen once until my clutch like blew out on me cuz it was liek dead dead and i didn't cahnge it until it blew. so get it fixed before you drive it like i did.
