LS/VTEC or Turbo??
Hey guys... Just picked up a 96 Integra LS (B18B1) with about 70k miles on it, and I'm trying to decide between doing an LS/VTEC swap or strapping a turbo to it. I've heard the LS/VTEC is unreliable, is this true? I'm not working with a very big budget, and this car is going to be daily driven on the street. Anyone got an opinion on which I should do?

if you're looking for 200whp, then boost it. i have friends that have built ITR engines, and they still only make about 195 whp, although the power id completely different.
I spent over $4000 Ls/Vtec build (still reasonably cheap for what I got
) and after putting 12k miles on it, I'm wishing I had just turbo'd my LS
Do yourself a favor and turbo unless you want to spend a grip of cash trying to reach 200whp with an all motor setup

I built my LS/VTEC for around $1000, and if only my LS head was good, I would have just gone LS Turbo. Boost it dude, from an LS/VTEC owner, I would rather rev to 6500 with a ton more power then rev to 8200 and worry every time I do it.
I got a LS turbo I usually drive on low boost which is 10psi. I love the LS turbo and the car moves. So, I would say turbo if I was you right now and you can hit 200hp, a lot quicker then building a LS/Vtec.

if you have never built a motor, or if your not very mechanically inclined i would not build a lsvtec. you really need to know what your doing to do it right. and don't just trust a shop to build you 1. around my town our of the 5 lsvtecs three of them are dead already.
