Will it just go right in the factory spot in my 2000 GS? Do i have to cut any wires or anything since the socket is on the opposite side?

Hmmm...JDM Type R components. I do believe that the complete cup holder assembly is completely interchangable, but I'm not sure if the lighter/ashtray assembly is symmetrical or not. Even so it wouldn't take much to fabricate the necessary components to mount it properly if it doesn't fit. I don't think it would be much of an issue, but I do think it would look funny without the rest of the fake carbon pieces.
