Default Went to the Track: SH*TTY TIMES!!!!

ok first off... i went to the track today... i have an 01 gsr 4dr. stock bottom end, skunk2 stg.1 cams, cam gears, springs, reatainers, obd1 p72 w/skunk2 chip, tuned v-afc, intake, jdm 4-1 headers, carsound cat( possibly clogged), and a dunk exhaust. street tires, just did cap, rotor, plugs, oil change (500 miles ago)... and i replaced the o2 sensor..

here are my times... i know there shitty.. but y?

r/t .644 (worst r/t of the day)

60' 2.502

1/8 10.136

1/4 15.486

mph 93.07

i was plannin on doin like a 14.75.. or so... could a clogged cat slow me down by a whole second? this was my first time at the track also...

i dunno what to say.....something is wrong.....thats for sure with your set up u shud be hittin 14.5s at least....your 60ft time should be slightly better with street tires.....around like 2.45

i hit a 14.9 with itr cams, skunk im, vafc, itr tb, aem itr cai on street tires
stock header, stock cat, stock exhaust

i wished i had a p28 with a skunk program at that time

maybe its sea level elevation in NY

was it a hot and humid day or cold

if its a clogged cat get a test pipe and call it a day

Elevation? bad tuning? not shifting at the right point? I dunno if the cat would suck up almost a whole second off the 1/4 time, i guess it depends on how clogged it is.

THere are so many factors during qtr mile racing that can cause a slower time, so dont be discouraged by negative input that other people may give. From the times you posted, it actually looks legitimate with the a mid 15 and a 93mph trap speed. Try some grippier tires, or a different track, with better conditions.

Were you at Hondaday? If you were I was too, and I ran a 15.103@91.59 last week at Import Survival Series, and I have a bone stock GSR. I ran a best of 15.4, it's was all in your launch, plus it didn't stop raining to like 12. The track could've been better. It was definetly humid too.

60' 2.502

That's part of your problem right there. Lower that and your time will come down.

have you ever dynoed your integra? ive seen cars with lots of mods untuned and made only a lil more than stock. throw it on the dyno and see where your at.

1. try a different launch teqnique. i usualy rev 3000-3500 (street tires) dump clutch and feather throttle till tires catch and go wide open. usualy pull low 2.2 to low 2.3

2. what rpm are you shifting at?

3. shift faster!

4. remember your cars a 4dr. not gonna be as light as all the 2drs in here.

5. go back and try again, practice practice!

im shifting at 8500

im shifting fast enough...

i know its a 4 dr but a 4dr only weighs another 80lbs

i am goin back.

also theres a puff of black smoke comin out of my exhaust when i shift hard... i know this is typically oil.. but could it be anything else?

Dude, honestly dont gauge your times by the e-time you hear; 75% of the times you hear on a website are bullsh*t. but I would defintely say that you should be running faster than that, because I have seen GS-Rs in the high 14s with just bolt-ons. Another big issue could be your tires. Your best bet is to get your car noed so you can see where you are at the wheels. When you get that number it will give you a better Idea of where you should be on the 1/4 mile.

people need to stop hating on the 4 doors..they're less than 100 lbs from coupes and that can be made up in a myriad of ways.

Your 60' time eats mad *****.

Work on your launch and your times will vastly improve. Shoot for a ~2.2 sec 60'.

whoa..your times should be a lot better than that!!!! You might want to look into drag radials, and lower the psi! What rpm are you launching at as well? your 60ft isnt all that great either..you want to be in the 1.9-2.3! maybe practice on your launch?

Drop your 60 ft time and your 1/4 mile time will drop significantly.

In other words, work on your launch.

Did you dyno tune your car?
