I'm trying to find out more about the SS Works CR-X as seen in the Best Motoring video "VTEC Battles at 10,000 RPM". It was a kickass video and this CRX spanked some amazing machines, including the spoon S2000 race car. It's ricer looking but oh dear god is it amazing.

 

I have the Hyper Rev magazine about it, to bad I cant read what it says.

i have the dvd and yes its freakin nuts

 

that dvd along with almost all the BESTMOTORING dvd's can now be found at bestbuy for about $18.00 each!! i should know..i freaked out when i saw them about a month ago and promptly snatched up 6 different volumes!!
i would suggest going and buying the "ROARING VTEC-The Battles at 10,000RPM" dvd and enjoy the ssworks crx spanking the crap out of cars it should not be all in glorious stereo

 

 

I have the Video (BMV #4) and it rocks!

The SS CRX has around 240bhp from a 2litre N/A motor and it even beat a Race prepped NSX with 340bhp ( driven by the "Drift King" no less...) that came in 2nd.

The CRX might be the best overall fun car to Mod and drive in my opinion.....and its a NSX killer to boot! (The SS-Works CRX is anyway)

I'd have to agree...but hey, it whooped some NSX ***!!! Good enough for me.

Anyway, I just picked up the DVD at BestBuy, and it's pretty good. They also have a segment that spotlights 4 VTEC cars - a black EF9, an Integra Type R, a Prelude, and a Haichi-Roku with an S2000 in it. Pretty sick shots from each, but they make fun of the EF9 for being old and floppy before they drive it...boooo!

whats the title of the DVD?

 

hmm ive seen this car a long time ago (like 1998ish) in some video of it comparing a bunch of civics and used this car as one of the benchmarks. so at least the "racing stripes" were still envogue at the time... i thought it matching the width of the rear center tailpiece was a nice touch actually.

interesting exhaust setup. is there something about an RX-7 caliper??

i probably am but that crx doesn't have the wrap around lights in the bumper is it an si-r to begin with?

is that a j's racing lip too? b4 the upside down wing i mean

hey are those carbs on that car? it has no distributor as well?

 

not all JDM models had wrap around headlights. i dont know the specifics, but some models in japan had our US type signal lights.

88-89 CRX's (all models) did not have wrap around bumper lights in japan

Yeah this video came out a few years back and I burned it to a dvd before it was available on dvd. it def has some good shots/footage. Now if someone can get some info on the time attack J's racing CRX !!!!

ONLY siR's had wrap arounds. si's and zc's didnt
