So Cal kids - pain job
Hey are there any good paint job places you So Cal kids could recommend? My accord is always outside, gettin some oxidation on the hood, plus i need to put on by body kit + paint. Thinking about just gettin the whole car done. Also on a small tangent. Have any of you seen the Black Widow wing for 6th gen sedans? I think it looks pretty tight, nuthin too extreme, but ya that's just my opinion. Throwing on a Xenon body kit, which isn't extreme riceage.
I went to MAACO. Got a paint job with 4 year guarantee. Sure enough, it looked pretty good for 4 years, and then deteriorated very quickly. Cost about $600.
In this area I believe strongly that you get what you pay for, and most of what you pay for is the prep work. To do it right, have it done at a body shop and be willing to pay $2000 or more. If you just want something that will look good for a few years do what I did and go to MAACO.

no paint shop will ever give you a lifetime guarantee except maybe on workmanship, or unless you're willing to pay $30K. whoever told you you could find that? or where did you get such an idea? its like getting a lifetime guarantee on a set of tires, or a tank of gas!
we have a paintshop here in salem and they have a lifetime guarantee. he wants everyone to know what kind of work he does and he wants your vehicle to look its best as long as its been painted by him. of course he told me my car would be about 3-4 grand to paint. still a good price for a LIFETIME!
Have you ever asked this guy what he would do if someone brought their car back after 5 years and asked for a new paint job? Does he have the names of anyone who has done it?
I understand now. Shops play this game with a "lifetime alignment". They basically charge double, and trust that people will trade in or sell their vehicle before they need 3 alignments. They lose money on me - I keep coming back.
