I heard there are cv boot that is splited so you can install it without removing suspension components; are they reliable?
I just discovered the broken boot today. It doesn't make any wierd noises so joint is not damaged right and that i can just replace the boot?

I've never seen one that didn't leak.

They work as a temporary fix to keep most of the dirt and crap out, but they do leak and I wouldn't recommend them for any long term fix. I had two of them and they both fell apart after awile. One piece boot is definitely the way to go
I noticed that my inner boot was broken yesterday, what would happen if I didnt replace it? Also I replaced both of my outer boots and with the spilts ones and they seem to be fine

crack?
once the boot is leaky, the lube is gone, dirt and sand came into the axle, grinding everything up</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yea it is cracked, its only the inner boot on the driver side. Should I replace the boot or think about replacing the axles?
