Window Alignment
I have had my 91 accord 4 door for a year now. the previous owner must have been in an accident (and not told me) but when the drivers side window (pw) goes up it gets to the top and then comes out about 1/4 inch. when i look at the top of the door it seems the black part on the door where the window slides up is offset from its origional spot. I saw this on another accord. Is this a common thing with accords?
Do i have to replace the whole door or can i replace the black piece between the front and back door?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I'm understanding you correctly, this happened to me too. I'd describe it like this: the glass window gets jarred out of the window track, so when you raise it it slides up outside the track, the black part, but still in the door frame. What I figured out is that there is too much movement of the window track frame inside the door when the window is open and the glass is down in the frame. What happens is that if someone slams the door shut while the window is down it will jump the track.
The way to fix it is you have to take the inside door panel off (3 screws, pull from the bottom, starting from the rear corner, then lift up so the lip of the panel comes out of the window slot). Disconnect the electrical harness and set aside. Then unscrew the speaker, disconnect and set aside. Then loosen the big brass colored bolt that holds the window frame near the front. You can then move it far enough forward to push the glass back into the frame. Then bring the frame back snug and tighten up the bolt. Reassemble in reverse.
Now, after doing this about four times in as many months I decided enough is enough, and I glued some styrofoam block inside the door to cushion and limit the movement of the window frame. Helped a lot but I still have to put the glass back in the track about once a year.
