83mm stock headgasket on 84mm gem block
as topic says. the stock hg for my car cant be bored out. so i was wondering i this would work. also felpro is an option maybe they use a different material multi layer hg wich i would be able to bore out. my oem hg is made from some fiber material. 83mm hg on 84mm block? thanks
yup talk to ge they r the one's who told me i cant bore out an oem gasket cause of the material. an nobody like cometic makes a gasket for my car b20a 88-91 PRELUDE ENGINE. so does anybody think i could get away with this? i seen one post when a guy said that he was running an oem hg that was 1mm smaller and havent had any problems.
I'm not sure what you should do... I can't honestly recommend a felpro gasket (seen a good number of them let go), and I don't know if you'd have any clearance issues between the piston and the gasket at high rpm (or any rpm for that matter). As long as the top of the piston never reaches the deck of the block, you'd probably be ok. That is something you'd want to check though, factoring in rod stretch at high rpm.

ok thanks i will check into that. cause my only options is a copper hg or a stock hg 1mm smaller. the only reason i dont want to use the sce copper one is my car is a daily driver. thank any more info feel free to post
