Default ITB's on a daily driver?

Anyone know of anyone running an ITB setup on a daily driver? I heard that K&N makes small filters that fit ITB's so you dont suck stuff up into your engine, Would ITB's make it hard to drive a car on the street? I plan to get a GS-R as soon as i sell my car and i want to do a fully built n/a setup (over the course of a couple years). I plan to save until i can do all internal stuff in one shot.

Anyone, bottomline is are ITB's streetable?

A friend of mine had ITBs on this ITR motor (in an EG hatchback, damn fast!). He did use the car as a daily driver. He said the ITBs did work, but the car had to warm of first for a couple of minutes in the morning. They were also a real pain to dyno tune. The biggest thing to be aware of is the ITBs will send your gas mileage into the toilet. I think he got 10-12 mpg.

I had a friend running ITB's on his daily driver. It was a LSVTEC (B16). It idled nicely, but he got **** fuel economy, like the guy above has said about his friend w/ITB's. Oh yeah, I don't think he was using any type of filtration either. Search for the all motor forum for "ITB" ...it's the "trailerpark" setup.
