Default test drove 01 GSR...

hey everyone, i test drove a 01 gsr today, sliver, gsr polished blades, blk interior w/ leather seats.. body and interior were in very good condition.. just ur normal wear and tear on the driver bucket seat..
had around 36,XXX miles on it, very clean engine, but did hear some kinda ticking, not sure if it was a heat sheld or valves, it was checked out by hondas inspection and passed and i dont think they'd let something like that go.

so im thinkin bout gettin it, but the price is 19,995. too high of a price or not?

i think it is, i could get a used 02 wrx for 14/15k

If I were you, I'd get the WRX and spen 5grand on that. That would blow away a stock GSR.

find a fist time owner and buy it out of the dealershipfrom them. a lot cheaper. i paid 12,500 for mine back in 95 with 27,000 miles on it. i scored though person had to leave the country and she couldn't get any other offers because of the limited time she had to sell it. gotta love mandatory armed services transfers.

Get a Type R if your going to spend that much.

Or find a better deal on a GSR. You'll find that there is a ton out there, so don't worry about losing your chances on this one. That price is way too high.

You can get a type-r for that price. As a general rule you shouldn't ever buy used cars from a dealership. Although I have seen some people getting some insane deals from dealerships from time to time.

Haha people were walking out the dealership with gsr in 01 for under $19k. They were giving them away. I would of laughed so hard if some one quoted me that price. I think that's the MSRP price of a brand new one in 01.

You could get a slightly used RSX-S for that price.

A silver GS-R is harder than hell to find though.

I'm going to hop on the bandwagon and say D@MN thats high! I bought my first GSR a 2000 the year it was released for $20k, it was mint with like 3 miles on it, I just bought my 1999 GSR a year ago for $10.5k it had 50k

The window sticker on a stock '01 GSR was $22,780. I bought mine brand new with 9 miles on it for $19,800. Pricing for a current '01 GSR should be between $14K-$15.5K depending on condition. I'm pretty sure the dealer only gave the person trading it in about $13K for it. Dealers make most of their profit in used car sales and always ask full retail for them. As mentioned by others, you can get a Type R for that kind of money. If you want the GSR (I chose it since I want A/C, sunroof, leather seats & cruise), find one from a private party with documented service records.

Check the auto classifieds to see what others are selling the '01 GSR for. You'll find they're siginificantly much less than $19K.
