Emissions ? High Co levels , Timing question??????HELP Appriciated
So my third time at emissions here in Illinois today. I am running a 89 CRX jdm B16a stock for test , with stock cat and new O2 sensors. I failed horrible the first 2 times around. I finally figured out that it was my BOMZ high flow cat. The company says that it is emissions friendly BULL SHITTTTTT , before I installed my stock cat today my HC levels were 4.84 and my Co level were 60.2 they are supposed to be under .80 and 15.0 here in Illinois. I beleive we are even more strick on Emissions Than CA,any how. After just welding up a new cat that was stock I lowered my leves to Hc .64 and my CO to 30.2 , SO THIS IS PROFF that you will not pass emissions with the high fow cat AT LEAST with the BOMZ resonator type looking ones! SO beware. HERE IS MY QUESTION. I passed the HC part of the test, I am still high in the CO deartment, i just have to get em down to 15.00 for the test , I brought the car to a diagnostic place, and they said all is good with the motor, no bad sensors ect. I Think i have to adjust my timing to fix my high CO problem. I am running stock injectors with MSD ignition and short ram intake, this is it as for mods now while I am trying to pass emissions. I have 93 octane gas in , should I advance or retard the timing to help out this area. SORRY ABOUT ALL THE READING>
ANY SUGGESTIONS i already added a bottle of that HEET stuff in there right before testing. I ran a full bottle to a half tank of premium.

Ill gurantee you running with that msd is hurting your co. Its putting out a ton more spark prob. causing pre-ignition and giving your car high co due to lots of unburnt fuel....
Id say your timingis off(igntiont timing) and retarding it should help, also step it down a bit in octane, that higher octane will burn well, but somtimes burns hotter, you need to cool the cylinders down a little more, right now the less spark and gas you have the better.
what are your plugs gapped at?

Question about the pic above...is stock timing right at the Red mark? If so what are the 2 lines behind it for and what is the white mark farther away for?
A friend and i just re-did my timing and set it to the white line
.
Is this wrong?
