Default help with broken axle/cv

well, i think i broke either an axle or cv joint today, and i need some help figuring out what the problem is. whenever i accelerate, the car vibrates/shudders like holy hell, but is perfectly smooth when coasting. the car still accerlates fine, and the problem isn't really noticable when first moving from a stop.

There is no clicking while turning or decelerating like i've seen with bad cv joints, so i'm thinking it's an axle. Also, i see no tears/leaks in the boot.

Anyway, if it is a broken axle like i think it is, how do i tell which one it is. the only suggestion i've gotten is to go and dump the clutch to see if i can COMPLETELY toast it, but for some reason that plan just doesn't seem like a good idea.

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

You have screwed the inner joint in your axle. Mine did the same thing and I decided to replace it, now the stupid axle wont seal. Time to replace it. Good luck..

will driving on it a little further make it any worse? i'm not at a place where i could fix it, plus i have NO tools what so ever. to get home, it's about a 45min drive.

i mean, nothing's gonna fall out or nothing right?

The worst that can happen is that it will break and then you will be stuck were you are, and will have to have your car towed.
Good luck and drive slow
