So we IM'd back and fortha about details. The motor was actually a friend's and he was selling it. But I paid Jeremy. I gave him a $200 deposit on it and then on October 17th, 2003 I paypal him the remaing $450 for the rest of it. SO the agreement was $650 shipped for a pretty much complete GSR shorblock, minus pistons/rods.

(1:59 PM 10/17/2003) jeremyEG: yeah it did drop a valve, the one piston had a small hole in it and the head was shot. the cylinder walls have no scratches on them though. i would suggest honing them, but that goes for any time you install new pistons and rings. if you really wnated you could have it bored .25 over and get oversized pistons or just rings.


yeah, no scratches on the walls, right... So, finally about 3 weeks later in early November (around the 10th) I get it. It took them long enough to ship it and he had all kinds of excuses from the beginning. Well, it was a mess and dirty but not a big deal. I just left it in the box. I was travelling every week for work so I didn't have a chance to get to it. I was worried as I hadn't checked it out once it came in but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Dumb move!! So then thanksgiving rolls around, I go on vacation for 2 weeks, then xmas comes.

To build this thing I was doing it in my basement. So I cleaned out my basement and built a nice work area. That took a couple weeks.

So finally in late january, early february I get the motor on the engine stand. I full tear it down and decide to look at the cylinder walls closer after cleaning them off of all the grease and junk. DAMN IT! Then came the problems. 2 cracks in the #3 cylinder and it's scored to ****. In fact all the cylinder walls were badly scored. At best this thing would have needed to be bored over. So much for a good block and NO scratches.

So I IM jeremy about the problem and he basically says, hey, you waited too long and you're outta luck. But I'll talk to my friend Brian. A week or so goes by and Jeremy gives me the song and dance that he can't get ahold of him and he'll tell me that same thing. He also mentions that the motor was at there other friend's shop who pulled the pistons/rods and he said the walls were fine and he would never let them sell it like that to anybody. Yeah, right. So, some more time goes by and he talks to Brian. Yeah, Brian could care less and says I should have looked at it earlier. Yeah, I was dumb there but I have a feeling I would have gotten screwed either way. I told him all I wanted back was half the money and I'd be fine with that as I needed the rest of the parts and I could sell the block to somebody that wants to sleeve it. Well, he cried poverty and said sorry, not gonna help ya.

So I've been following him on here every now and then. His original username was jeremyEG when I bought it from him and then he had problems remember his passord so now he goes by GERM.

I find this little blurb from our IM's kinda ironic:

His name is Jeremy Anderson and he's from Pittsburgh, PA. His friend that he was selling it for was named Brian Franklin and he lives in Oakland, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh. I told him I was gonna file a police report and he kinda laughed at me and told me he got screwed once and it got him nowhere. So, I held off on that. I now have a lawyer who will be contacting him shortly and on Monday I will file the police report. I don't care if it costs more than the $650 to do something about this, I'm gonna get something outta this. It's too bad it came to this, all over basically only the $325 I wanted back.

Oh, and the kicker. He cried poverty but then I see one post where he's selling a GSR tranny and another where he mentions doing a lappping day. Check em here!

anyways, that's my story. sucks to get scammed but I hope no one else does. I should have acted on all this sooner but I've just been so busy. Hopefully I'll get some money out of him, even if it costs me more.
