I used 87 octane for the first time in my life the other day, but it was to fill up my girlfriends explorer

Use premuim just like the manual instructs you to.

im pretty sure that when it knocks it will automatically reduce the ignition timing which will make your engine bog.

I wouldn't put that owl **** in any automobile. Just use the best stuff you can get, I put 94 in there and it costs me like 16 dollars to fill up my tank, and my car loves me for it.

/\ search dude. i JUST made a topic about this a day or two ago. and like almost everyone here will tell you, you need to use the octane rating that is suggested by honda. why would you hurt your car like that? if it breaks down early, you have no one to blame but yourself. anyone can scrape together the extra change needed to pay for that 91 octane

If you're feeling cheap, buy 89. Don't buy 87 if you have a B18C.

Read the other post if you want an explanation why.
