Default Newbie....Need help to decide Stick with stock engine or swap to h22

My engine blew up and I am thinking about swap h22 in to my Accord 97 EX v-tec.
but my friend told me to rebuilt my stock engine better than swap h22.

He told me that h22 is not fast. I forgot, I have a tubo kit.
My friend told me that with good rebuilt engine and a good tune up, the f22 can beat h22.
Is that true?

In my opinion, h22 comes with 195hp (usdm) with out mod. cost me $3600 If I decide to go turbo with good tune up, later, it will cost me another $3000-$4000. I can reach 350hp.

Stock engine, f22 v-tech comes with 145 hp, rebuilt the engine and good tune up with turbo.
I can reach, let's say 200hp may be a little bit more. It will cost me $3600

I do not know whichone to go.
Please help me decide.

how about h22 w/o turbo?

What happened with your current setup? How did you lose the engine?

You have to excuse my english. If I miss spell or you do not understand what I try to say. English is not my first language.

I found an interesting site on f22 mod. he musts have deep pocket.

http://board.hondasociety.com/...pp=30

I talked to my friend this afternoon. It cost $4500 to build the f22 that include
sleeve
piston
rods
tune
and hondata ecu.

One thing that I do not understand why I have to convert my obd II to obd I, he told me.

The price is unbelieveable. Too unbelieveable that I do not trust him. He is the one who is going to do all the swap.

I think I will go with h22.
If I go with h22 without turbo, what else i can do to the engine to make it faster. How fast?

My goal is 250hp-300hp
Any suggestion?

Id say H22 with I/H/E port the intake mani or buy a new one, bigger throttle body- walbro FP and B&M FP reg. along with some RC injectors-with a VAFC should be a fun car to have not 250-300HP but its cheap. If you want all motor youre gonna have to shell out some green and be ready for alot of maintnence for the 300 HP mark.

if your going to drop $3-4k, i'd almost go into another chassis.

There will always be someone else with a faster car...WRX sti / etc....

How fast do you want to go?

I do not really care about that. How fast? 250hp at the wheel

I just want a car that fast enough and fun to drive around the city that is all.

if youre not looking to get into really really fast id say rebuilding and boosting would be better. if youre only wanting something quick turboing your f22 would be better in my opinion. but ya if you want to be fast you'd probably be better off swapping and possibly boosting later.

edit: and you can go turbo for alot less than $3600

i say stick with the f22b1/2 and boost it...keep it at 7psi or 6 and then up the piston and rods later....i rather have a boost f22 than a NA h22

I have been looking to get a water pump for h22 98' usdm on ebay and I got confused. They have diffrent water pump for diffrent prelude 98' (Si, SH, v-tech). Don't h22 use the same water pump.

What about air intake. Should I get accord or prelude air intake?
