Default Hello! I am new to the Integra forum and have a couple Q's.

What up everybody? I am not new to HT but I am new to the Integra forum. I used to own an EJ1 but that just got totalled . So today I bought a White 94 Integra LS Hatch which I am very happy about. Now my q's, where can I find amber bumper lights (website's?), how do I remove the strip going all the way around the car? I tried using a razor but that FUCKED UP my paint (chunks of clear coat came off). Am I going to have to get the part of the car repainted or is there something I can use to blend it together? I already tried using rubbing compond but it didn't work, personally I think i'm FUCKED.

Nice to meet you all and hopefully I can learn alot about my DC as much as learned about my EJ on here.

Welcome, glad to see a new Integra owner. If you need to know anything in particular, shoot me an IM, I'll help you if I can.

I don't know of any amber corner lights for sale for 94-97 integras, but you can paint your corners easily. I did mine, and it turned out great. with the strip, what exactly are you talking about?

I have like a racing strip going across the fenders, doors, and hatch. I think it might be factory because when I tried removing it the clearcoat started coming off.

if it's the one i'm thinking of, the dealer should be able to remove that for around 30 bucks. thats what a buddy of mine got quoted for the removal on his accord, so it shouldnt be much more or less

It's called "pen stripes" and can be removed by dealerships, and most shops that offer window tinting and removal.

If they are the stickers ( not the painted ones *hammer*) you can use a razor to get the edge off, then just peel very slowly and carefully, because the stripes tend to rip apart as soon as you apply the smallest amount of pressure onto them. Just be patient, and you'll be rid of them. Use some goo-gone afterwards to get rid of any residue.

[smacks head]

Whoops.

If you decide to repaint the car, it would be a fine opportunity to go ahead and have some basic "shaving" done, for instance the antenna, roof washer fluid nozzle, body moldings, the word "Integra" from the bumpers, etc.

if the paint isn't too bad, you could get some touch up paint from the dealership, touch it up, let it dry well, and then spray some clearcoat over it (it comes in cans), and that would save you a lot of money.

moulding is just the british way of spelling... mould = mold. like color/colour, flavor/flavour etc.. but yea, if you get a repaint, get em moulds out. I dont have the moulding on my teg, but always worry that the guy parked next to me will leave a nice ding on my door, to add to the few i have alerady.

Do you guys think if I try using an electric buffer to the parts where the strip was that it would blend the paint in? I'll post some pics tomorrow.

whats basically involved in removing the moldings/(mouldings )? I am having some body work done on my car next week and one part involves the replacement of a molding. Its like 175 for the molding!! and it needs to be painted? I think im just gonna spend a little more and have it shaved, but what would that involve? Im guessing bondo or such to fill in the holes and then spray over it?
