please help me save my 98+ headlight. big problem.
Let me explain this the best I can.
My drivers side 98+ headlight assembly is having a problem. 2 days ago I noticed that my drivers side headlight was aiming down at an angle. I popped the hood and check the headlight assembly and noticed that the Black rubber PIECE that holds the 9006 lightbulb in place is FLOWING around. With or without the bulb in place, I can move that piece in any direction(up/down/left and right and the projector bulb moves too), the funny thing is that EVEN the piece that secures 9005 bulbs and the Horizontal leveler move simultaneouly. It seems like the outside is fine but whatevers holding everthing together inside the unit is falling apart? please help me.. on how to rectify this problem..? is it clips? screws?

Sounds to me like the bracket inside has broken off or just come off of the adjusting screws somehow.

This is the headlight bracket (mine has a Hella bi-xenon projector in place of the stock projector, and the high beam reflector is removed in this pic). It is suspended inside the headlight housing by 2 adjusting screws and a pivot piece. The two adjusting screws go thru the white plastic pieces (one below the level and the other on the upper right corner) and the pivot piece goes in that round hole somewhat above the level. So my guess is that the bracket inside your headlight has either come off the screws or the part of the bracket that has those white plastic nuts has broken off.

First you remove the bumper then remove the headlight, then bake the headlight in the oven to soften the seal and pull the 2 halves apart (preheat to 350, turn off, put in headlight for 10 minutes). Then have a look inside and see what happened. If it's broken I might have a spare driver side bracket I could sell you... I'll have to check my stash of headlight parts though and see what I have, I have parts from probably 5 or 6 headlights laying around.
so.. just preheat the often to 350 degrees, turn off oven, and put headlight in for 10 mins to bake, remove from oven, the remove the 2 halves? right?... wouldn't the 10mins 350 degrees heat damage the assembly?
I checked my light again, I think it's the plastic brackets that broke off because I could move it up and down and even in circles and I can also push it in alittle too and the whole thing inside the housing would move. I think the whole piece inside(above picture) came loose. Could it be that the 2 plastic clips slipped out and not broken?
thanks

It's possible, you'll just have to take it apart and see. The oven won't hurt the headlight, just remove everything you can from the headlight housing first like the round rubber gaskets around each bulb holder, the rubber drain tubes, the horizontal alignment guage, etc.
