just got done swaping b16a2 on ek hatch 99 and check engine light is on. everything else is great, car runs good and vtec works. i went to a mechanic and they pluged this thing under the dash and saying something about the o2 sensor. anyways, the engine came with a o2 sensor that is attached to the end of the header and is pluged in to a harness thats located close to the oil filter. spoke to some people and they said that you need another o2 sensor that should be screwed in to cat converter. the only thing that i dont get is " where do i need to wire that o2 sensor to coz i dont find any other open harness ". im also running my stock exhasut that doesnt have a cat converter which i assume thats where the 02 sensor is going to be. im gonna buy a cat converter that has the hole to screw in the o2 sensor. so i just need some help to make sure that im doing this right.

 

they're right. i'm not to familiar with that car but it should have another connector under your car near your shift linkage for the secondary o2 sensor. that sensor does connect to your cat, but if there are no wires or a connector there then i would get an o2 simulator. search for an o2 simulator, it's a little black box about as big as half a box of malboro lights, wire that into your ecu harness and it will take care of your secondary o2 problems. they're like 40 bux. versus trying to find out if you do have a connector and purchasing another o2 sensor. the o2 simulator should come with instuctions and is easy to hookup.

what harness did you use? the dx/cx harness is only wired for one o2...but if you used the Si engine harness it's wired for the 2 o2 sensor's in the cat...someone please correct me if i'm wrong...but i remember doing this on the swap in my friends ek

 

yeah 1 goes to the end of the header and 1 goes to the cat conv. i already bought a cat that has the hole for the 2nd o2 sensor and i also bought the o2 sensor as well. but i dont know where to wire the o2 sensor that goes on the cat.

 

should have a clip there if you used the si harness
