pic request- GSR w/ VALVE cover oFF
i know this is a hard one..... but i would appreiciate a gsr with its Valve Cover OFF
since i cant take off my valve cover... due to a stripped cap nut...
i want to see what would happen if i dremel the cap nut off.

don't do that
you will get metal everywhere
just take off the rest of the nuts, and the stripped one, take the nut off all the way, the post will come of the head, and you will be able to take off the valve cover, at that point, you will be able to get a wrench on the post and take off the nut, and replace with a new post, and nut

Maybe it's easier to see this way...

So you've got one of those studs #18 spinning along with it's top nut. If you can, take off the valve cover along with that stud/nut. Then cut it apart where the metal shavings won't get into the engine.
I know you've been spinning that thing for a while, so maybe it really won't come off like that. If you really can't get it off, grab the nut with a vise-grips & break it off. Whatever way you get it, you're still gonna have to buy a new stud (#18).

thanks!
my problem is, i need to remove the cover to replace the valve cover gasket...
when i try to loosen cap nut on the BOTTOM LEFT corner of the valve cover (as seen in the pic) i assume that the cap and stud is spinning together at the same time.
no matter how long i try to loosen it. the cap nut wont seperate from the stud.. and it wont come loose.. so i tried the opposite. and it wont tighten either...
I was able to remove all the cap nuts on the valve cover.. the 3 outer nuts. and the 4 under teh park plug cover.
but i still cant manage to remove the last nut that is on the edge.
i was told in the other thread. the only thing i could do is. dremel the cap nut off....

Maybe it's already broken... Did you actually try taking off the valve cover the way it is? They usually stick from the gasket getting hard, so rap it with a soft mallet or something.
Or try this, tighten the living f*ck outta that nut on the top so it'll break off and then you can take the valve cover off and use the other end to loosen the broken piece off.

Listen to Dan GSR and do not dremel it. That could affect the overall life of your motor since metal shavings will be all over your valve train.

i dont think he can, he said that he went one way to loosen it and it all just spun together, then went to tighten it and it spun together too... umm, i say just get a rag and work it in all the corners so metal doesnt get anywhere on ur head.. dremel the bitch off, go buy part #18, install it.. and it should be good..
i really dont see any other way to get that nut off if it spins with the bolt its on
