Default USDM or JDM ITR

Going to be buying an ITR from HMO in a couple weeks. Should I go with JDM or USDM? Gonna be going turbo when I get enough money for the kit...

Thanx

if you are set on getting an itr motor, go usdm.
CR slightly lower.

but why not just spend the money on a b18c1 and use the leftover money for your turbo stuff?

Hmm, good question

Will there be a difference in the power if i go b18c1 instead of c5?(significant difference)

I'm gonna have about 4.5k to spend on the motor until i save some more..

What kind of things should i replace with whatever i go with, just to be safe before going turbo or will it be safe runnin boost on the stock engine...plan on runnin 7-9 psi as a daily driver.

Thanx

if you go C5, you will ultimately make more power per pound of boost. but then again, you have to make sure the tune is top notch, and every little thing counts.
with high CR, bad tank of gas could mean bad things for your motor. there is little room for error so to speak.

personally, id drop in a C1 motor, spend the rest on some parts for the turbo.
drive around the C1 for now. enjoy it while its unmodded

what type of power are you looking for?
how much do you want to spend on the turbo stuff?
are you loooking for a kit or custom?
street or track?

id start with the C1 and go from there.

you can save even more money by going with a b16a and putting a t3/t4 turbo on it...

i've seen it done for as little as $5 g's... 12's shouldn't be too hard to reach. my friend's crx had a b16 turbo and was running 12's on about 15lbs of boost.

so you going with c1??

lets pretend you do.
with a good tuner and all the correct parts (dont go ghetto style )
youll be able to break into 12's with stock motor w/ slicks

you wont need any internal upgrades.
many people on this board have stock c1motors that easily hit 12's.

turbo parts if you decide to go custom

exhaust manifold
downpipe
turbo
BOV
wastegate
IC and piping
oil lines ect.
those are the main things
dont forget
engine management-hondata
injectors-do at least 550's
clutch
gauges-at least boost and egt

if your going kit..
depends how much your willing to spend...
if your a big baller go with full-race , all quality parts in there kit
if not, id do revhard.

well, since we are talking about all motors now, just throw in a b18b motor.
awesome power and lots of torque.
cheap to buy new block too if it blows

i am almost 100% sure you will need motor mounts. search around in the HYBRID forum. im sure plenty of people have done this swap.

for revhard, check out kyles website, awesome seller, great customer service and price

http://www.wiredspeed.com/

full-race is very pricey. but check out there stuff.

if your gonna go with a b series swap in your crx you will need to buy a mount kit...i found hasport has one of the best mount kits and place racing is equally good. but they can get pricey...i don't know how much they are now but they were like 500 last time i bought one(3 year ago maybe more). good luck with it though
