will a 95 civic with a d16z6 handle a greddy turbo kit running 10 pounds of boost with stock internals an 71,000 miles on it...an if not what would work good. thanks to everyone who replies.

What condition is the Z6 motor in? Did you beat on it? How often did you change the oil?

I think you should be ok but dont start at 10lbs of boost. The stock setting on the GReddy kit is 6psi i believe and get an intercooler. I would start out at 5-6 and get used to driving it and then make the transition to 10psi. But, do yourself a favor and get a good fuel tuning system. Dont think that you can slap on a turbo and hit Mach1. Horsepower is achieved through dyno tuning with a good fuel setup..

I running the GReddy kit on my D16Y8 with hondata and the car feels great. My engine have 101,000 on it and it still pulls strong.

 

with proper tuning 10 psi daily is not a problem. I did it.

 

Do a compression test on your motor and see how that checks out. If it's good, you can probably run 10lbs with good fuel management and tuning. I probably wouldn't do it tho considering that the Greddy kit for your car doesn't come with an FMIC, fuel injectors, etc. Just run the stock boost.
