Default EK Exhaust Dilemma

Alright I really do not know what I should do here, please give me some advice...

Ive got a H22 in my EK and by the end of summer i hope to install a turbo and am unsure of what exhaust i should be getting.

Ive heard many say you should have 3" exhaust for boost, but i'm worried my exhaust is going to sound like **** with 3". I was looking at the skunk2 and thats only 2.5" but would this be sufficient if im only going to boost 10psi max?

The other main issue with this is dealing with my dad. He's bitching at me saying "i dont want your exhaust sounding like some jap ****" and he wants me to get some cheap custom exhaust with a resonator, catalytic converter (i gotta go through inspection), and some "V8 sounding muffler." Well, wtf guys... isnt he nuts? He also says 500$ on exhaust is a waste, so what am i to do guys?


CLIFFNOTES: whats a good turbo exhaust for boosted H22 on an EK h/b?

A 3" will sound much deeper than a 2.5", boost or no boost!

I don't think a turbo with a 3" exhaust will sound anything like the "jap ****" your dad is referring to. It should be nice and deep.

who gives a damn what it sounds like the 3" pipe will be the way to go for boost. be more concerned with how your car moves instead of how it sounds.

is there anything you guys think i could say to shut him up? also, what kind of legal exhaust systems are there for 3" i cant seem to find any...?
