Default how hard should it be to push a blow-off valve open

I think the new blow-off valve I just bought is machined to tight.. When I push on the valve, I have to press pretty hard for it to move.. Should it be this hard or pretty easy to open..

New or used? Sometimes new ones need "breaking in." My tial was extreemely tight. I set it on my carpet, took an old pool cue [with rubber stopper on the end] and used that to open it a few times. Now I can open it with my hands. Sometimes they just need to intially be broken free.

I put a little bit of grease in there but that didnt really help much.. Oh by the was its brand new.. I even broke out the polishing bit for my dremmel and ran it in there a few times and that did help a little bit..

Its pretty tight in there is there anything else that I can do to open it up a little bit..

That is a TCC Works Blow off valve. Steven had one, and it was sort of difficult to open, but not too bad. It doesn't have any way to attach it to the charge pipe [v-band, flange, etc] so we welded it directly to his charge pipe. The heat from the weld egg shaped the cylinder and made the BOV not work. We trashed it and now he's looking for a good quality BOV, not the inexpensive one. Just a thought...

Its only for now.. I am going to weld a piece of pipe on to one of my charge pipes and just use a little piece of hose to connect the blow-off valve to the charge pipe.. Kinda like how the Bosch blow-off valves are mounted..

Eventually im going to get a hks ssqv blow-off but just need to use this one for now.. I only paid $30 shipped for it and I pretty sure it will work better than the Bosch plastic blow-off valves that go for about the same price..

Now is there any way make it fit a little looser in there.. Possibly use some high grit sandpaper on the valve to make it fit better..

Sure why not...cut the springs on your suspension, hell cut the springs in your blow off valve and wastegate too! While you're at it, cut the spring in you FPR...
